Meet the Coaches

Head Coach & Program Director - Kennedy Schoepp

Hi all! My name is Coach Kennedy. I have been a swim coach for 10+ years in junior, assistant, and head coach roles. I coached water polo for a few years in high school and returned 5 seasons ago and am now the Head Coach for the Parkland Polo Bears and support coach for the Tsunami Bridge program. I played water polo for almost 8 years growing up with the Polo Bears and later the Edmonton Capitals. From there, I played for Sonoma State University in the NCAA. I am so passionate about the sport and am so excited to bring that to our club! Thanks and see you all on the pool deck!

Assistant Coach - Arend Rea

I’m coach Arend this is my 9th year with the Polo Bears and I’m excited for the season. The polo bears have always been exceptional athletes and I’m very excited to train the upcoming athletes for years to come.

Assistant Coach Brianna Hurren

Hello everyone! Welcome to the 2023-2024 water polo season! My name is Coach Brianna. You might recognize me from the water polo community already - before coaching, I played for the Polo Bears as well as Tsunami, starting in 2014. The past few seasons, before covid, of course, I have been junior coaching with Polo Bears as well as assistant coaching with the Stony Plain Sharks Swim Club, so some of you may already know me! A few of my hobbies include learning new languages and spending time outdoors with my dog, Jasper. I am so excited to be a part of the amazing coaching team here, and I know it’s going to be a wonderful season!!
